RANGE RULES

 

  1. No alcohol or controlled substances may be consumed at any time while on the

Shooting Range.

 

  1. Eye and Hearing protection must be worn on the firing line while line is hot.

 

  1. Do not shoot high power rifles on the pistol range. 

 

  1. Always point the muzzle of your gun straight up or down, keep the action open and firearm unloaded when not on the firing line.  Do not handle your gun while anyone is downrange.

 

  1. When going downrange to post or pull targets please leave someone on the firing line to make sure others know you are downrange.  If you are alone please put out the range-closed sign before going downrange.  The range-closed signs are inside the clubhouses.

 

  1. Do not use Armor Piercing, Incendiary, or Tracer Ammunition on the range at any time.   If you see that you are doing target damage, then stop shooting.

 

  1. Do not use glass containers for targets.  If you use cans, paper, cardboard, etc for targets you will be responsible to pick up all such items when you finish and take them with you.  You bring it in you take it out.

 

  1. The gate must be locked when leaving the range.  The combination to the gate lock is not to be given to any nonmember.  During the week close the gate behind you so people who are not members cannot get into range.   Always lock our lock thru the same link as the P.G.& E. lock.

 

  1. All children must be under the direct control of an adult at all times.   If they are near the firing line they must use ear and eye protection.

 

  1. All pets must be under the direct control of their owners at all times.

 

  1. No open fires at any time as there is no water available on the range. This includes burning of trash.

     
  2. Cooking or BBQ fires must be contained within a proper fire safe container.  If you are using the large covered BBQ tank, use only charcoal – NO WOOD.

 

  1. Do not throw any trash into portable toilets.

     
  2. Overnight camping on the range facility will be allowed for scheduled events or as otherwise authorized by the Board of Directors. All camping sites will be on the south side of the Pistol Range. West of the storage container.

     
  3. Scheduled and published events, including range use pre approved by the Board   of Directors will take priority over member’s access to the range and use thereof.  Members are expected to check the calendar of events and the monthly bulletin to determine if scheduled events exist on the date they wish to use the range. 

 

  1. Each member may bring his/her spouse and children and an occasional guest to use the range facilities.

 

  1. Groups utilizing the facility are responsible for taking all their trash when they leave. You bring it in you take it out.

 

 

The Hat Creek Rifle & Pistol Club Inc. reserves the right to refuse access or remove any person(s) for any reason that might result in a safety violation or hazard, damage to the facilities, they become loud or disruptive, or any other act or omission that is contrary to established criteria, for the operation of a safe shooting range.
